DESI DHABA
Desi Dhaba isn’t your average Indian restaurant. It’s where homesick students, shift workers, local families and late-night crews all come for the same thing: real food, cooked fresh, served with heart.
We started Desi Dhaba in the early 2000s because we missed the magic of roadside dhabas back home, smoky tandoors, ghee-loaded parathas, and lassi poured like it was gold.
So we built one. Right here in Melbourne. No shortcuts, no frozen curry, just good food made daily by real chefs. Spices flown in from India which we vowed to prepare them on-premises each day, everyday and only use Desi Ghee.
We’ve weathered storms, served through hard times, and stood strong with our community. Through it all, Desi Dhaba has stayed what it was always meant to be: a refuge. A place where cabbies come for a midnight meal, families gather for celebrations, and everyone, is treated like one of our own.

Desi Dhaba Tarneit feels like home. I am visiting my son. We dine in yesterday at this place. No match of the Hospitality we received from the staff. It felt like home away from home. Salute to Chef Vansh, food prepared by him is delicious.
Had pretty good conversation with the staff, Zeenat, Deepak, Jashan, Komal and Urmila. They treated me like their mother. Great Place to be with Family and friend. 200% Recommended.
